Biographical Sketch of

de Raye Walker

de Raye Walker, a native Washingtonian, gave her life to the Lord at the age of twelve and was baptized at The New Macedonia Baptist Church in Southeast, Washington, DC under the loving leadership of her late pastor, Reverend Dr. Robert L. Walls, Sr. Having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Towson University and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Duke University, de Raye spent nearly 15 years in Health Administration, most recently as the Compliance Director for the Washington Hospital Center and Corporate Compliance Manager for MedStar Health. In October of 2004, her current Pastor, Reverend Patrick J. Walker, asked her to prayerfully consider leaving the corporate arena to serve in full time ministry as the Church Administrator at The New Macedonia Baptist Church. After seeking the Lord and receiving confirmation in her spirit, de Raye left MedStar Health and has served as the Administrator, since January 2005.

de Raye is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the church and its ministry partners – The Robert L. Walls Senior Citizens Center and The New Macedonia Christian Academy. It is her joy to oversee property and facilities management, human resources, event planning, legal services, rental property, construction and administrative support services. Beyond the day to day administration, de Raye is also involved in the other aspects of ministry in her church. She is an instructor in New Macedonia’s Discipleship Ministry, founder and director of the church’s drama ministry and serves with the praise team. She is also a member of the National Association of Church Business Administration.

Sister de Raye is committed to serving the people of God and bringing glory to her Lord and Savior. Her life verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to bring you hope and a future.”
